This was a self-initiated project to refresh the packaging for Nestlé’s Nestea, modernising its look while staying true to the brand. The focus was on creating a vibrant, eye-catching design that would stand out on shelf.
Research was a key challenge, as I needed to understand Nestea’s history and the evolution of its packaging. I also analysed the iced tea production process and studied competitors like Lipton and Arizona to gain inspiration and inform ideas for a fresh, contemporary design.
Designing for a product I enjoy drinking allowed me to better understand the target audience. I created a bright, bold look that stands out on shelf and evokes refreshment. The can’s pattern was inspired by tea leaf residue, combined with illustrated fruit, while the original Nestea logo was retained and integrated for recognisability. A leaf-shaped pull tab adds a playful, memorable interaction.
